Sage Payment Solutions SVP Robert Bertke to Present on PCI Security at NAFCU's 2010 Technology & Security Conference

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwire - February 16, 2010) -  Sage North America today announced that Robert Bertke, senior vice president (SVP) of product management for its Sage Payment Solutions division, will present an education session on Payment Card Industry (PCI) security at the National Association of Federal Credit Unions' (NAFCU) 2010 Technology & Security Conference, being held February 23-25 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Sage Payment Solutions helps more than 140,000 businesses deliver improved customer experiences by providing payment processing for multiple forms of payment, including credit and debit cards, electronic checks, Check21, gift and loyalty cards, and automatic recurring payments.

Bertke will present "PCI - The Evolution of Payment Security & Functionality" -- an overview of the PCI standard guidelines and critical timelines. Conference attendees will gain an understanding of payment security at the product level, and learn how the next generation of solutions will advance their credit union's security and functionality. Attendees will also learn about what changes they should prepare for starting in July 2010.

Bertke has been in the commercial payments and business-to-business electronic commerce industry for more than 13 years. In 1995, he helped Wachovia Bank release its first commercial card products by creating a technology solution for card transaction GL (general ledger) coding and management information reporting. He left Wachovia in 1997 to join the American Express Technical Consulting team, where he was a member of the ANSI X12 committee developing card-specific EDI (electronic data interchange) transactions, and acted as product manager and technical consultant for key e-commerce initiatives.

In 2004, he joined Open Business Exchange (OB10) as a consultant to support the U.K. firms' entry into the U.S. market. Most recently, Bertke served as group vice president at SunTrust Banks, leading the technical implementation group and serving as product manager to bring a strategic technology solution to market.

NAFCU's Technology & Security Conference is designed for credit union technology and security professionals, and will address the most critical credit union technology issues, including online threats, physical security, compliance, and disaster preparedness/continuity. Sage Payment Solutions is part of NAFCU Services Corporation's Preferred Partner Program. NAFCU Services Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of NAFCU, a respected and influential trade association that exclusively represents the interests of federal credit unions before the federal government and the public.
