Sacramento Drivers Fuel Green for 85 Cents per Gallon at Propel Stations

Company Announces Plans to Expand Network of Fuel Stations and Create Jobs Across State

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2010) - Propel Fuels, a leading retailer of clean, renewable fuels, will offer Sacramento drivers extraordinary savings at the pump on Wednesday, February 24th. Propel will offer E85 ethanol that has a typical retail price of $2.39 per gallon, for just 85 cents per gallon at its five area stations from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 24th. The goal of the program, in partnership with CALSTART, is to make the current 25,000 Flex Fuel drivers in Sacramento aware of the economic savings and environmental benefits of fueling with the domestically produced, low carbon fuel.

"Consumers and fleets see considerable savings at the pump by using E85, and reduce dependence on foreign oil," said Matt Horton, CEO of Propel. "Propel's average E85 price is $.50 per gallon lower than gasoline, so checking your car's Flex Fuel compatibility can lead to significant savings at the pump."

E85 capable Flex Fuel vehicles can be identified by the manufacturer's vehicle badge, yellow gas cap, or by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) online. Drivers can find out if their vehicle is E85 compatible by checking online at www.propelfuels.com/driveE85. Numerous cars and trucks from Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Isuzu, Jeep, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, and Toyota are E85 compatible.

The special E85 price will be available on Wednesday, February 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at all five Propel stations in Sacramento, Rocklin, Citrus Heights and Elk Grove. Propel will kick off the program at a press event taking place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Propel station at 7741 Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights. The program will include brief remarks from the state's largest alternative fuel users and supporters, and will be followed by a vehicle caravan of the latest eco-friendly Flex Fuel and diesel vehicles. Station locations can be found at: http://www.propelfuels.com/content/station_locator/.

Propel recently announced $20 million in private financing that will allow the company to expand its network of alternative fuels stations to major markets across the state, supporting California's emissions reduction goals and stimulating job growth. With numerous advanced biofuel production facilities preparing to break ground in the state, Propel's fueling infrastructure is a critical link between California's citizens and the next generation of low carbon fuels. This fuel infrastructure further strengthens California's economy by enabling consumers to choose domestically-produced fuels, creating hundreds of new jobs in the state.

"Given the cost savings and carbon reductions our fleet has realized through Propel's Sacramento stations, we are looking forward to broader statewide access from Propel," said Larry Paris, Fleet Manager, Sacramento District of the U.S. Postal Service. "Working with Propel to identify future locations that best serve our fleet is vital to meeting the renewable fuel goals of the U.S. Postal Service."

Propel has seen strong sales at their Sacramento locations, including use by a number of private sector and public agency fleets such as the California Department of Transportation, Department of General Services, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the U.S. Postal Service. Many of these customers take advantage of Propel's patented CleanDrive™ platform, which automatically tracks and reports carbon emissions reductions resulting from the use of renewable fuels.
