KYOTO, Japan, March 8, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nidec Corporation (the "Company") (NYSE:NJ) today announced that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Nidec (Dalian) Limited, will build a third factory and R&D laboratory in Dalian Economic & Technical Development Zone, Dalian City, China.
Nidec (Dalian) Limited currently operates two factories in Dalian Economic & Technical Development Zone, both of which engage in the production of small precision motors. With an estimated capital investment of 50 million U.S. dollars, the third factory now planned for construction will undertake the manufacturing of automotive motors.
The third factory will be equipped with an adjacent laboratory embracing advanced research and development capabilities. Working in tandem, the new manufacturing and R&D facilities assume an essential role in driving the commercialization of the Company's industry-leading electric motor technology and accommodating the rapidly growing demand in a broad spectrum of the Asian market.
