BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - April 13, 2010) - Oklahoma City psych/prog/experimental pop quartet STARDEATH AND WHITE DWARFS will hit the road for the month of May in support of their Warner Bros Records album debut, "THE BIRTH." SDWD will also join THE FLAMING LIPS for select shows including the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN on June 11th.
As previously announced, SDWD have joined forces with THE LIPS to record their updated interpretation of Pink Floyd's 1973 classic album, "THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON," along with spoken word and vocal assistance from Henry Rollins and Peaches. Appropriately enough, the title of the album is "THE FLAMING LIPS and STARDEATH AND WHITE DWARFS WITH HENRY ROLLINS AND PEACHES DOING THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON." The album was originally available online only this past December. But now, thanks to modern science and retro-technology this already-classic/future classic album will become available on April 17, Record Store Day. This Limited Edition pressing comes housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve and pressed on color vinyl and will also include the album on CD in the package.
In honor of Record Store Day, STARDEATH AND WHITE DWARFS will join their Oklahoma City brethren The Flaming Lips to perform a song from "THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON" on April 16th, the day before RSD. Tune in to NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" at 12:35 AM EDT / PDT and 11:35 PM CT to catch this one time-only extraordinary TV event. Check local listings for details.
