City Ventures to Present at 2010 Milken Institute Global Conference

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) -  City Ventures, one of California's most active, new urban developers, announced today that its President and Co-Founder Mark Buckland will present at the 13th annual Milken Institute Global Conference. The Global Conference is a gathering of CEOs, elected leaders, Nobel Prize winners, scientists, educators, philanthropists and other experts who will discuss ideas to cultivate a global recovery. More than 500 speakers will discuss and debate issues such as how to create jobs, advance health care, address energy security and provide new opportunities in education. The conference will take place April 26-28 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California.

Buckland will participate on a panel titled "Outlook for the U.S. Housing Market," which will focus on issues surrounding underwater U.S. mortgages and their sustainability and the future for Fannie and Freddie. Also representing City Ventures at the conference will be Craig Atkins, Chairman and Co-Founder.

City Ventures currently holds more than 2,000 lots within 13 California urban, coastal counties. The company owns or controls -- land in cities including Pasadena, Newport Beach, Santa Barbara, Yorba Linda, Encinitas, Santa Ana, and Claremont. In each location, City Ventures will build single- or multifamily homes at prices in line with current values -- not anticipated appreciated values -- a practice that contributed to the current collapse, according to Buckland and Atkins.

Among its development tactics, City Ventures uses fresh, unencumbered capital to buy desirable, often distressed residential and mixed-use properties to transform these assets into vibrant, new neighborhoods. Leveraging its connections with brokers, land owners, and cities, City Ventures delivers new homes at prices below current market rates, despite offering a nearly identical product to its competition.

About City Ventures
City Ventures -- with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County -- buys urban properties using fresh, unencumbered capital, with the intent to entitle, build and transform these assets into vibrant, new residential neighborhoods. After identifying and buying these properties at the current market value, it then completes entitlements and residential construction with an emphasis on quality and cost effectiveness. Assets are acquired for less than previous peak market values, therefore enabling City Ventures to sell these homes for prices that resemble pre-bubble values.
