29,000 Students in 39 States Take Part in Oceans Mural Contest, Winner to be Announced Wednesday, April 28


LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., April 27, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Disneynature's OCEANS, the Wyland Foundation, Fredrix Artist Canvas, and Volvo Cars of North America will be announcing the winners of the OCEANS national classroom mural contest on Wednesday, April 28th.

Sponsors donated 50 square-foot canvases to more than 300 public and private schools and community centers across the nation. 29,000 students in 39 states painted murals about a range of issues affecting ocean health. The contest was created to help communities across the nation understand they live in a watershed that eventually impacts the health of the ocean — from the Mississippi river watershed to the great lakes to the American southwest to the Chesapeake Bay.
