Analogic Corporation Receives Grant From the Massachusetts Division of Career Services


PEABODY, Mass., April 28, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), a leading provider of medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that the Company has received a $100,000 grant from the Massachusetts Division of Career Services (DCS) Workforce Training Fund. Analogic will use the funds to support a Lean Six Sigma training program to improve the Company's productivity and reduce costs.

Six Sigma is the implementation of a measurement-based strategy that focuses on improving the quality of process outputs by finding and removing the causes of errors. Analogic will train and certify employees at Six Sigma black belt, green belt, and yellow belt levels, to identify process improvement opportunities and implement strategies to shorten new-product development cycles. The Company expects to achieve savings through increased productivity and the reduction of waste and inefficiencies.

The Workforce Training Fund is a state fund that is financed by Massachusetts employers to provide resources to Massachusetts businesses for employee training.
