Aconex Expands Operations, Hires Senior Executives in North America

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2010) -  Aconex (www.aconex.com), the world's largest provider of project collaboration solutions for the Construction, Government & Infrastructure, and Energy & Resources industries, continues to expand its North American presence as it accelerates hiring and signs major customer contracts. Most recently, Aconex was selected to service Newland Communities and its project partners on the US$6 billion Symphony Park mixed-use development in downtown Las Vegas. Other notable North American clients include AECOM, Las Vegas Sands and Pacific West Builders.

The company has announced the appointment of two industry veterans to roles as VP of Sales, to accommodate current and planned growth. Paul Cardone brings over 20 years' experience in asset management, document control and business process automation solutions, including senior roles with Skire Inc. Darryl Pettinelli, also with over 20 years in project-focused solutions, joins Aconex from Deltek Inc, where he most recently held the positions of VP International Sales and VP Customer Sales.

Despite the U.S. construction industry's three-year decline, Aconex has prospered, as organizations look to adopt technologies that can maximize efficiency and minimize risk. The company's growth can largely be attributed to a proven solution built on neutrality and fairness to all project participants, an unlimited customer support model, and the ability to service almost any project in the world, regardless of size or location. Expansion in North America comes as the company's addressable market is bouncing back. According to McGraw-Hill Construction's "2010 Construction Outlook" report, the construction market is beginning to recover, with the level of U.S. construction starts expected to grow by 11 percent this year. At the same time, demand from the infrastructure and energy sectors remains strong.

Global uptake of the Aconex online project collaboration platform has on average doubled every year, as greater numbers of organizations realize the benefits of project management software. Aconex securely and efficiently manages the tremendous volumes of information generated by construction and engineering projects and links the organizations involved, streamlining the collaboration process and boosting efficiency. Clients benefit from improved financial returns and reduced risk.

Using the Software as a Service delivery model, the Aconex online project management system can also integrate with a number of enterprise applications, including Microsoft SharePoint and Oracle's Primavera Contract Management, to provide project-wide collaboration and control. The company has recently made a significant investment in its product and IT infrastructure, introducing new modules that further streamline collaboration, and implementing Akamai web acceleration technology, which has boosted system performance by up to 300%.

"The last 12 months have been really exciting for us, as we have won a number of major clients and high profile projects," said Dexter Bachelder, Vice President, Aconex. "We have already established 10 offices in North America, which give us a coast-coast presence, and we are hiring aggressively from within the construction and engineering communities to support the demand we are seeing from clients."

"The AEC industry is ready for a collaboration platform that is proven to save time and money and reduce risk," said Leigh Jasper, CEO. "Our international market leadership and 10-year track record have allowed us to build a strong position in the North American market, where we see significant opportunity to bring effective collaboration to the industry, as we have elsewhere."

From its 37 offices worldwide, Aconex services US$220 billion worth of projects in 65 countries for clients like Parsons Brinckerhoff, IKEA, ContourGlobal and Arup. For more information, visit www.aconex.com.
