CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - May 25, 2010) -  MorrisAnderson announced today that it has promoted Kenneth R. Yager, II to the position of chief marketing officer (CMO), effective immediately. In this newly created role, Yager will oversee national brand management for the financial and operational advisory firm, as well as expansion of its industry practice areas.

Yager joined MorrisAnderson in 2005 as a consultant in its Chicago office, was quickly promoted to managing director in 2007 and then was promoted to principal in 2009. In his most recent role, he has successfully led the firm's growing Southeastern U.S. practice. Additionally, Yager has a taken a leadership role in MorrisAnderson's recent launch of four focused industry practice areas, including automotive, business services, consumer packaged goods and restaurants. He also has further developed the firm's relationships with investors, hedge funds and private equity firms, and has a successful track record serving as an interim manager and CRO.

As MorrisAnderson's first CMO, Yager will be one of few professionals within the turnaround management industry to hold this title. According to Dan Dooley, principal and chief operating officer of MorrisAnderson, the creation of a CMO position exemplifies the firm's forward-thinking approach to marketing, as this role will advance the firm's heightened focus on understanding its clients' industries and needs.

Yager has nearly two decades of experience in general management, capital raising and profit-and-loss responsibility for companies in growth, leveraged-buyout and turnaround situations. Prior to joining MorrisAnderson, Yager led Newpoint Ventures where he revitalized middle-market companies by establishing new management teams and raising various debt and equity structures. Previously, Yager also served as a vice president at Bank of America, senior associate at Coopers & Lybrand and a financial analyst in the capital markets division of Salomon Brothers.

Yager has a bachelor's degree in management from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business, as well as a master's degree in management from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association and was a former president of the Kellogg Alumni Club.
