Kingspan Insulated Panels Puts Creativity on Display at AIA 2010 National Convention and Design Exposition

Company Will Award iPad to Winner of Design Competition

DELAND, FL--(Marketwire - June 7, 2010) -  Kingspan Insulated Panels, Inc. will display the design capabilities of insulated architectural panels and roofing systems and engage visitors in a unique building design competition at booth #1887 during the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2010 National Convention and Design Exposition, this week June 10-12, at the Miami Convention Center, Miami, Fla.

The competition invites designers to complete a sketch of a building (drawing available online at www.kingspanpanels.us/winanipad.aspx or at the booth) by creatively incorporating insulated metal panels in a variety of colors, profiles and sizes and integrating them with windows, louvers and other building features. The winning design will be selected from sketches submitted at the booth, and the designer will be awarded an iPad.

The Kingspan booth will feature several high-performance, aesthetically pleasing products that support the company's EnvelopeFirst™ approach to LEED® and net-zero energy buildings. Products on display will include Kingspan Benchmark Designwall Series of architectural panels with integrated profiles, louvers and windows. Also on display will be KingZip Insulated Standing Seam Roof System, a pre-engineered, zip-up roofing system that provides enhanced performance, design flexibility and aesthetic appeal, which reduces on-site construction time. Kingspan will also introduce and preview their Powerpanel solar roofing solution, a KingZip roof system with solar PV arrays, which insulates buildings and generates on-site electricity. This single source solution reduces the risk associated with multi-sourcing and is supported by a 25 year warranty.

"We're excited about the opportunity AIA 2010 presents for us to demonstrate and educate designers on the design flexibility and customization of insulated architectural panels for individual projects, in addition to their underlying thermal performance," said Paul Bertram, Jr., FCSI, CDT, LEED AP and director, environment and sustainability at Kingspan Insulated Panels, Inc. "Kingspan products underscore our commitment to EnvelopeFirst, an approach to thermal and energy efficient high-performance buildings that starts with the building envelope, followed by renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics, and contributes to overall building sustainability."
