Policy Expert Edward Mills Joins Firm as Vice President, Financial Policy Analyst

ARLINGTON, Va., June 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FBR Capital Markets Corporation (Nasdaq:FBCM) (FBR Capital Markets), a leading investment bank serving the middle market, announced today the addition of Capitol Hill veteran and financial policy expert Edward Mills to the firm's Financial Institutions Research group. Mr. Mills will serve as Vice President, Financial Policy Analyst, and will be based in Arlington, Virginia.

A veteran of Capitol Hill, Mr. Mills joins FBR Capital Markets having spent nearly 10 years as a staffer in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives. He most recently served as Senior Policy Advisor for Banking and Finance to the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business. Prior to that, he was a policy advisor for Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney of New York, covering issues related to financial services and consumer credit. Earlier, he was a professional staffer with the House Financial Services Committee where he staffed the Chair of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. He began his career as an assistant to Congressman John F. Tierney of Massachusetts. Mr. Mills is a graduate of Boston College.
