Proven Marketing and Sales Leader to Head Aberdeen's Marketing Effectiveness Practice


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 8, 2010) -  Chris Houpis has joined Aberdeen Group from Kronos Inc. having achieved recognition as an effective senior executive with a proven track record of producing substantial revenue increases through effective marketing campaigns and demand generation programs. During his four year tenure at Kronos, Mr. Houpis managed various senior management positions leading Corporate and Field Marketing, Business Development and Services Inside Sales Programs in the United States for the $700M+ software company.

While Chris spent his career holding executive positions managing Sales and Marketing at Fortune 1000 firms, he also has extensive entrepreneurial experience. Prior to Kronos, he ran marketing and channel relations for Newforma, a venture-capital funded architectural engineering software company where Chris was instrumental in its successful award of Series C funding. In 1996, Chris launched New England Service Source, network consulting and support services firm, growing the firm to over $4 million in annual sales. Prior to that, Chris worked with ManagedOps, an industry-leading Microsoft implementation and application hosting partner, where he held various executive positions. In 1991 Chris was named General Manager of New England for US Cellular Corporation. During his tenure, Chris grew the business from a 16 person staff with revenue of $6 million to a 250 person staff generating revenues of $52 million annually. At SBC Chris served as Director of Corporate Marketing for the firm's paging division, where he worked to establish the industry's first agent distribution network, directed corporate account sales to Fortune 500 firms, and ran corporate marketing programs.

Chris received numerous industry awards including ManagedOp's Chairman's Award for Outstanding Customer Service, Microsoft's prestigious President's Club for Outstanding Sales Performance, their Pinnacle Award for Customer Innovation Excellence, US Cellular's Outstanding Region and the company's Soaring Eagle President's Club, and SBC's Circle of Stars Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Chris has also taken an active role in public service, having served as a member of New Hampshire's Workforce Opportunity Council, the Governor's blue ribbon Panel on the New Hampshire's Use of Information Technology, President of the Manchester - Queen City Rotary, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the New Hampshire Institute of Art. In 1999, Chris accepted Governor Shaheen's nomination to serve on the State's Board of Education. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for St. Philip's Church, the Nashua Community School of Music and Nashua Habitat for Humanity.
