Bosch Efficiency-Leading Appliances Showcased in Museum of Science and Industry's 2010 Smart Home: Green + Wired Exhibit

Bosch's Eco-Leadership Recognized by Inclusion in Fully Functional, Sustainable "Green" Home

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - June 9, 2010) -  The Museum of Science and Industry exhibit Smart Home: Green + Wired is an entirely functional "green" home focused on energy efficiency and a healthy-living environment. The exhibit features six Bosch appliances, recognizing Bosch home appliances' commitment to energy and water conservation.

Bosch is the only US appliance manufacturer with entire product lines of ENERGY STAR® qualified dishwashers, washers and refrigeration. Bosch appliances featured in the Smart Home include:

  • 800 Plus Dishwasher: The 800 Plus uses as little as two gallons of water per cycle, 70 percent less than the average dishwasher, and operates on only 180 kWh/y of energy, an industry best.
  • 800 Series Induction Cooktop: AutoChef sensor technology measures the temperature from the bottom of the pan and applies only the perfect amount of energy for precise cooking results, every time, and without waste of energy.
  • 500 Series Wall Oven: Genuine European Convection® allows for the cooking of an entire meal at once, without transfer of flavors or aromas. Clean-up is easy with EcoClean, a two-hour self cleaning function -- from start to finish -- that saves time and consumes less energy.
  • Integra Refrigerator: Built-in Integra refrigerators feature Eco Mode to save energy during everyday use, while Vacation Mode conserves energy when away for a prolonged period.
  • Axxis Laundry: 24" compact and stackable, Axxis laundry is perfect for high rises or homes looking to save on space, energy and water.
