TEMPE, Ariz., June 19, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EcoEmissions Solutions Inc. (OTCBB:ECMZ) is pleased to announce the completion of a definitive agreement to acquire EcoEmissions Systems Incorporated. As part of the acquisition EcoEmissions Solutions Inc. gains the rights to distribute the Catalyst Injection System™ (CIS™), a proven emissions-reducing system for all types of diesel engines.
The pre-combustion system (the only patented system of its type in the world), injects a platinum-based catalyst (nano) solution into the engine cylinders producing a more complete burn of the diesel fuel. Simply installed without modifications to the engine itself, the results are more power, lower fuel consumption, dramatically reduced pollution and an extension of engine life. The catalyst is then used as part of normal diesel engine operation and is replenished approximately every 500 hours depending on the size of the installation.
An average sized cruise line ship from will consume 150 gallons of catalyst every 1,000 working hours and an average ship may run over 4,000 hours per year. The current MSRP for one gallon of catalyst is $1,656.12.
By burning fuel more efficiently however, the EcoEmissions pre-combustion technology reduces diesel costs by 8-12%, so employing the technology actually results in a net savings in operating costs. The EcoEmissions system also cuts emissions of particulate matter by 30-40%, and those of hydrocarbons and nitrous oxides (NOx) by 25% or more.
EcoEmissions will initially focus on the multi-billion dollar global marine and other large diesel markets. Incremental improvements to engines of this scale, by using Eco's CIS™ will bring very large savings over the life of a ship or other large diesel engine situations. A large ocean liner depending on engine size and quality can consume fuel and emit pollution equal to that of thousands of motor vehicles.
As an example, just one seagoing tug could save over $100,000 per year in fuel costs (based on 700,000 gal/yr consumption) by using the EcoEmissions technology. The global trans-ocean freight marine fleet consists of approximately 200,000 ships.
The purchase of EcoEmissions Systems, Inc. follows the completion of the escrow agreement concerning the purchase of certain shares of EcoEmissions Solutions Inc. stock as disclosed in its SEC filing of December 8, 2009.
