Kids Brand Marketing Agency to U.S. Restaurant Industry Requests Eric Mar to Stop Kids Meal Toy Ban in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 21, 2010) -  Creative Consumer Concepts (C3), one of the largest, kid-smart brand marketing agencies to the restaurant industry, wants Eric Mar, member of the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco, to stop his request to ban kids meal toys in San Francisco. Last month, Santa Clara County Officials fast-tracked legislation and passed The Kids Meal Toy Ban.

Bob Cutler, CEO of C3, is outraged and is putting his efforts into preventing Mar and the government from passing the bill in San Francisco. "Mar may have a noble ambition with his ordinance related to taking away a parent's right to purchase food with any incentives they choose. The problem is that it's not his right to interfere with a consumer's choice of food based on an incentive that is legal and safe. This clearly demonstrates that the government does not think parents are capable of making decisions for their children, which makes one wonder: how many children have been victims of the 'big bad restaurants.' There is no existing data to support that an ordinance will accomplish one single thing," said Cutler.

Although Cutler opposes the toy ban, he and his company are extremely committed to eliminating childhood obesity. "No issue is more important to the future of our country than the best interest of the safety, health and well-being of our kids. Unfortunately, banning kids meal toys from restaurants will not resolve childhood obesity. C3 has been educating, advocating and executing healthy food options for kids and parents and will continue to commit to supporting this issue," said Cutler.

In May, a poll conducted by the California Restaurant Association revealed that 87 percent of Santa Clara County residents opposed the law. C3 took the initiative and created a website, http://freetochooseourmeals.com/. It keeps readers informed about issues surrounding the toy ban and allows them to share their opinions.
