RouteMatch Software Chosen as Primary Scheduling and Dispatching Software by Indiana Department of Transportation

RouteMatch Chosen for Its Ability to Serve Both Smaller and More Complex, Larger Transit Systems Within Same Serving Area

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2010) -  RouteMatch Software, Inc. today announced that the Indiana Department of Transportation selected RouteMatch TS™ software, its flagship intelligent transportation system (ITS) software, for automated routing, scheduling and coordination in eight transit systems in Indiana.

Boone County Senior Services, Inc. coordinated the procurement on behalf of the individual nonurbanized area transit systems in the State of Indiana who have received grant funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provided funding to the Indiana Department of Transportation under the authority provided in 49 U.S.C. § 5311. The procurement was conducted as a cooperative offering a diverse range of software system products, and established a schedule of prices for a complete software package, including all licensing, installation, database conversion, third-party mapping products, training, hosting, and one year warranty costs.

RouteMatch Software will be implementing projects designed for two tiers. In the initial phase of implementation, participating systems that are smaller in scale (operating fewer vehicles, transporting fewer passengers, and generally operating in less complex environments) will be first to receive RouteMatch Software and technology training, as they require basic functionality in the software system.

The second phase of implementation will reach larger service areas that have higher ridership, more peak vehicles, and potentially a greater array of funding and billing sources that must be tracked on a daily basis, also known as tier two agencies. Moving forward, tier two agencies will be able to add modules and expand their software functionality allowing for the introduction of additional technologies at a later date, such as AVL or IVR. INDOT recognized that they needed a software solution that could support evolving technology needs for tier two agencies.

Stated Tim Quinn, Executive Vice President of RouteMatch Software, "Our ability to deliver successful projects to both large and small systems coupled with our track record implementing, scheduling and dispatching software in over 270 sites was a competitive differentiator."
