ENNEPETAL, GERMANY--(Marketwire - July 12, 2010) - Alanod-Solar, the worldwide leader in advanced reflective and absorptive solar surfaces, unveiled its new lacquering facility in Ennepetal, Germany on July 3, 2010 in a ceremony before an international audience featuring customers, company executives, European solar officials and regional political representatives. This new facility represents a total investment of $25 million and the lacquering line increases Alanod-Solar's annual capacity by nearly ten million additional square feet of surfaces per year.
This state-of-the-art plant features coil-to-coil lacquering capabilities to produce weather-resistant aluminum surfaces for both reflective and absorptive outdoor solar applications. It adds to Alanod-Solar's innovative surface production capabilities, including its global lead in vacuum coating technology. Together, these technologies enable Alanod-Solar to produce its weatherproof solar surfaces entirely in-house.

The company's recently announced mirosol® TS and mirosol® WP surfaces are black lacquered selective surfaces on aluminum that will be finished on this new lacquering line. These economical, highly efficient and durable solutions will also be available as MIRO-Fin® absorbers manufactured by Alanod-Westlake in Ohio.
In attendance and speaking at the inauguration ceremony for the new facility were Mr. Beyer, Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy of the State North Rhine-Westphalia Madam Minister Christa Thoben, and ESTIF President Olivier Drücke.
