Bluelounge Selected to Exhibit at the Fourth California Design Biennial at the Pasadena Museum of California Art July 18-October 31

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) -  Bluelounge, the award-winning international design studio known for sleek, minimalist design home and office organization products including the CableBox, Refresh, and The Sanctuary, today announced that their award-winning StudioDesk will be included in the fourth California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction exhibition from July 18 through October 31, 2010 taking place at the Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) in Pasadena, CA.

Organized and presented by the PMCA since 2003, the California Design Biennial showcases new directions in design, as well as exploring how design impacts and inspires our culture. The exhibition, California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction, focuses on work created in the past two years, and it builds upon the unique history of California design for the past 100 years.

The designs in California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction will address how designers are responding to a variety of global issues and how the products they create reflect the influences of our changing world. Design categories include industrial design, fashion, graphic, transportation and architecture and focus on how California's established and emerging designers are responding to current economic, political, and environmental challenges. The exhibit will also place the work in a context that facilitates a deeper and richer understanding of the design that surrounds us every day.

"We are honored to have been chosen to exhibit at the California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction and join the ranks of the prestigious California design community," said Bluelounge Principal and designer, Dominic Symons. "It has always been my goal to create designs that use style and functionality that reflect our present day, tech-driven needs. The California Design Biennial provides an ideal platform to showcase our product in the larger context of how interaction with design affects our lives and culture."

California has produced countless designers who have changed the way we think about design and its role in our daily lives. From Greene and Greene to Charles and Ray Eames to the designers at Apple and Fuseproject, California has long been home to important designers who have changed the way we think about design and its function in our daily lives.

The Opening Reception for the California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction is Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. Free for PMCA Members, RSVP: 626-568-3665, ext. 14.
