Compuware Gomez Launches New U.S. Retail Banking Web and Mobile Benchmarks

New Website and Mobile Performance Scorecards Establish Comprehensive Web Performance Standards for Financial Services Industry

DETROIT, Aug. 17, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gomez, the web performance division of Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), today launched new U.S. Retail Banking Web and mobile industry benchmarks that provide the most comprehensive and unbiased view of the state of web and mobile site performance.

Gomez's U.S. Retail Banking web and mobile performance benchmarks--recognized as an industry standard for measuring web and mobile performance against key competitors and industry leaders--have been expanded to include metrics from more dimensions to provide a more comprehensive and insightful view of web and mobile performance. These multiple dimensions are also aggregated into a single, overall rank for the U.S. Retail Banking Web and Mobile Performance Indices. This "rank of ranks" is the first in the industry to consolidate multiple tests, providing retail banks with a single rank to quickly compare their performance to top competitors and industry leaders.

The Gomez U.S. Retail Banking web and mobile benchmarks now include:

"Today's retail banks are challenged to provide comprehensive, customizable, dynamic web and mobile sites that are also extraordinarily fast and seamless," said Matt Poepsel, VP Performance Strategies, Gomez. "The "rank of ranks" website and mobile indices, which establish a new industry standard for delivering superior web experiences, are the first in the industry to provide retail banks with a fast, top-line view into how their web or mobile sites are performing across multiple dimensions in comparison to their competitors."

Gomez has doubled the number of global web performance benchmarks it has published for over ten years to more than 100 that include more than 2,000 companies in dozens of industries. Gomez web benchmarks involve testing the websites of target companies using a subset of the Gomez Network, which features more than 150 high-bandwidth "backbone" locations and more than 150,000 actual end-user "Last Mile" locations around the world. Gomez Mobile benchmarks test mobile-specific versions of target websites. These are typically "streamlined" versions of websites that were created specifically with the mobile form factor and throughput speeds in mind. Gomez Business Process benchmarks measure typical multistep processes--such as purchasing a product or performing a stock trade-- across major brands in the same industry.
