BNP Paribas Reorganizes Its Investment Banking Business in the Americas

Appoints Chris Innes as Head of Equity Flow and Financing Sales


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - August 17, 2010) -  BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking is pleased to announce the appointments of Edward Speal as Head of Global Equities and Commodity Derivatives (GECD) - Americas, Lionel Crassier as Head of Equities - Americas and Dan Cozine as Head of Structured Finance - Americas. Chris Innes has joined the Bank as Head of Equity Flow and Financing Sales also for the Americas.

Edward Speal has been with BNP Paribas for over twenty years. He is currently head of the Structured Finance business which includes export, project, energy and commodity finance. Prior to this role which he assumed in 2008, he spent three years as head of Territory in Canada. Edward's extensive experience also includes the position of Head of Commodity Derivatives. He reports locally to Everett Schenk, Head of Territory, North America and globally to Yann Gerardin, Global Head of Equities and Commodity Derivatives.

Lionel Crassier has been with BNP Paribas for over 15 years and has held senior positions in Tokyo and Paris before moving to New York as Head of Equity Derivatives Trading and Structuring in 2007. Lionel has been running the GECD platform in the Americas since 2009. In his new role as head of Equities and Deputy Head of GECD in the Americas, Lionel will in particular focus on aligning our Equity Derivatives organization with our global strategy and implementing our development plans. Both Edward and Lionel will represent the Americas on the GECD Executive Committee. 

Chris Innes has joined as Head of Equity Flow and Financing Sales, Americas, including Cash Equity. Chris joins the bank with very impressive equity market credentials having among other things, run the Bank of America EQD and Finance platform as well as his own hedge fund and equity brokerage firm. He reports to Lionel Crassier.

Dan Cozine returns to New York to run the Structured Finance business after spending two years in London as Head of Loan Syndications and Trading for EMEA. Prior to that, he held positions as Co-Head of Energy and Commodities Structured Debt and Head of Project Finance in the Americas. He reports locally to Everett Schenk and globally to Dominique Remy, Global Head of Structured Finance. Commenting, Dominique Remy said, "Dan is a great professional with many years of structured finance experience and I am confident he will continue the stellar job Edward has done with the Structured Finance business."
