First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. Mourns the Death of a Director

ITASCA, IL--(Marketwire - August 23, 2010) -  First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company" or "First Midwest") (NASDAQ: FMBI), the holding company of First Midwest Bank announced today with great regret the death of Thomas M. Garvin, a member of its Board of Directors ("Board"), on July 30, 2010. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Garvin had served as a director of First Midwest since August 23, 1989.
