Bruce Wilson, Former Director for Legal Affairs of the World Trade Organization, Joins King & Spalding's Washington, D.C., Office

International Trade Push Continues Following Geneva Office Opening

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - August 31, 2010) -  King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that S. Bruce Wilson will join the firm's Washington office as a senior counsel in its international trade practice, effective October 1, 2010. Wilson, who has served for the past eight years as the head legal officer of the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, has retired from the WTO effective today.

Wilson's arrival at the firm follows closely on that of international trade partner Daniel L. Crosby and the opening of a King & Spalding office in Geneva, Switzerland, which focuses heavily on trade matters.

"Bruce Wilson is one of the most visible and respected international trade lawyers in the world," said Stephen A. Jones, head of King & Spalding's international trade practice. "His broad experience in the United States, at the WTO, and around the world dovetails perfectly with the opening of our Geneva office and the global nature of our practice."

Prior to his service in the WTO, Wilson held several senior staff positions in the U.S. Congress and in the executive branch, including staff director of the House Ways & Means Subcommittee on Trade, and Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for industry, services, investment, and intellectual property.

"Bruce Wilson not only is a major global player in international trade," added Wick Sollers, managing partner of King & Spalding's office in Washington, D.C., "but he also has exceptional experience on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch and in the way Washington works. He is a great addition to our international trade team and our ability to represent our clients on public policy matters."

"King & Spalding has one of the top international trade practices in the world," Wilson said. "It's a great fit, and I'm excited to be part of this outstanding team. I eagerly look forward to working with the firm and its clients to expand the global practice even further."

King & Spalding's international trade practice consists of over 45 lawyers and consultants, including former government officials, former WTO officials, trade remedy accounting and data specialists, and foreign legal experts. The group received the Chambers USA Award for Excellence in both 2008 and 2009 -- the top award given to a U.S. law firm by that rating organization -- for the firm's pre-eminence and noteworthy achievements in international trade, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.
