New Ortho Center opening in Skåne

Global Health Partner is today opening a new orthopaedic clinic in Lund,
Ortho Center Skåne. Leading doctors in the region have been hired and
the clinic is fully equipped to perform all kinds of orthopaedic
outpatient surgery. “We see great opportunities for our businesses in
Skåne and it feels incredibly exciting to now also be able to open a
unit that is a completely new care provider within the framework of
highly specialised hospital care in Skåne,” says Per Båtelson, Global
Health Partner's CEO.

Ortho Center Skåne shares premises with Bariatric Center Skåne, which
opened its obesity operation business in Lund in the middle of June. The
premises contain both a doctors' office and a surgical unit with bed
capacity and the clinic is fully equipped to perform knee arthroscopy,
ligament surgery, shoulder surgery, hand surgery and basic foot surgery.
The doctor medically responsible is Pär Herbertsson, who is a specialist
in sports injuries. Together with Leif Swärd, partner and co-owner of
Ortho Center IFK-Kliniken in Gothenburg, leading specialists in the
region have been hired for the business, whose main focus will be on the
insurance market.

The clinic is a branch of Ortho Center IFK-Kliniken in Gothenburg, which
means that the same agreements with the purchasers of care apply.

Global Health Partner runs businesses within sports surgery and
prosthetic surgery through Service Line Orthopaedics. In 2009 the two
clinics, Ortho Center Stockholm and Ortho Center IFK-Kliniken in
Gothenburg, together performed almost 1,100 hip and knee prosthetic
operations and 2,200 outpatient orthopaedic operations, and had almost
14,000 doctors' office visits. Within the framework of the free choice
of health care provider, Ortho Center Stockholm has a market share of
just over 20 percent in Stockholm regarding hip and knee prosthetic
surgery. Ortho Center IFK-Kliniken works primarily in the area of
outpatient arthroscopy procedures in knees, hips and shoulders and its
business has a very good reputation in the sports world.
