NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 2, 2010) -  Capital Link Inc. will host its 2nd Annual Global Derivatives Forum on Commodities, Energy & Freight. The Forum is scheduled to commence at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.

Forum Description

Capital Link's 2nd Annual Global Derivatives Forum focuses on a specific area -- Freight, Energy and Commodity Derivatives. These areas are inter-related and followed by the same investor group. Commodities, Energy and Transportation are sectors influenced by trends in the global economy, and in addition, commodity and energy products are mainly transported by ships.

The Forum will bring together key officials in the derivatives industry to discuss recent developments, risk management, utilization and the overall outlook of derivatives. Participants will include executives from publicly listed shipping companies, derivatives traders, consultants, brokers and lawyers.

Former Chairman of the U.S. SEC to Deliver Keynote Address

Former SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt, an advisor to some of the world's most significant hedge funds and derivatives traders, will discuss the new Dodd-Frank Act and its likely impact on businesses and investors. Now that Dodd-Frank is law, it will have significant effects on derivatives trading and hedge funds. Mr. Pitt will discuss how investors can best accommodate to the new regulatory regime in advance of new rules being adopted by the various regulatory agencies, and give his take on what we can expect to see from the SEC in the months ahead.
