Sauer Energy Completes Initial Wind Turbine Prototype

NEWBURY PARK, CA--(Marketwire - September 8, 2010) - Sauer Energy, Inc. ("SEI"), a BCO Hydrocarbon, Ltd. (OTCBB: BCOZ) subsidiary developer and producer of home and enterprise scale vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) systems, today announced it has completed its initial prototype model of its wind turbine.

With its first iteration prototype, SEI has introduced its proprietary technical innovations for transforming wind energy into a cost-effective reality for home owners and small to mid size enterprises (SME). The Company anticipates its unique aerodynamics and advanced design features will distinguish its wind turbine system in the marketplace with strong competitive advantage. This prototype enables SEI to begin testing and development to advance to pre-production samples and lead to commercial production.

Dan Woods, President of Dangar Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. ("Dangar"), serves as SEI's Chief Technical Officer and has been instrumental in producing the prototype VAWT.

Dieter Sauer, President and CEO of SEI, stated, "With our technology and vision for a consumer and SME scale commercial product, we are incorporating what we believe to be the most advanced, state-of-the-art designs in the industry. We are confident in our plan for commercialization so that we can fulfill our goal of offering a cost effective, green energy solution that lowers the cost of energy bills and replaces the use of hydrocarbons."

Validation of SEI's VAWT concept is currently under way using Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFDs), Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) and 3-Dimensional Modeling (3DM) that is being carried out by third parties, such as M4 Engineering, to achieve the best path to an optimal commercial product.

The complete prototype was engineered and produced at Dangar. Dan Woods, SEI's CTO, served as lead engineer, completing the CATIA engineering, CAD and CNC programs. The Company has completed all engineering of the design development to the final tooling process for production and manufacturing. For the mold making, it used a 5 axis Computer Numerical Control (CNC) with Numerical Control (NC) programming using CATIA, Computer Assisted Design (CAD) and Computer Assisted Modeling (CAM).

Sauer Energy's proof of principle and complete functional and operational prototype is currently in the process of obtaining market certification all through an independent third-party to meet American Wind Energy Association standards for small wind turbines.

About the Prototype Model

Sauer Energy has completely renovated the design of maximizing the wind capture characteristic of the turbine. This model is aerodynamically engineered for the maximum effects. The multi-patented design will allow the use of state-of-the-art materials, such as carbon fiber composites, to give it lightweight and long term durability. In designing this turbine, special care was taken to make it extremely easy to assemble with few tools required, practically plug & play.

The most notable features are the air disruptors, which cause a turbulent boundary layer to form, thus reducing drag. Therefore, it creates faster revolutions per minute. The inside of each blade is designed with air strakes, which act like canals that capture, guide and channel the air flow. It accelerates and directs the airflow through air jets and onto the next blade. This ram jet propulsion further assists in the rotation of the blades. These design features, and much more, will give the model its low startup and high torque conversions with predictable results. The Company believes its VAWT design is revolutionary.
