NKT Cables lands 260 mDKK submarine project 
NKT Cables has signed a contract with RWE Innogy in Germany for the manufacture
and delivery of a High Voltage Submarine Cable to the coming Welsh offshore
wind farm “Gwynt y Môr”. In total, NKT Cables will produce 85 kilometres 132 kV
High Voltage Submarine Cables and accessories for the transmission system.
Contract value is around 260 mDKK. 

The cables are to be produced at the newly built cable factory in Germany and
production begins late 2011 for delivery mid 2012. 

"Gwynt y Môr" wind farm, which with a capacity of 576 MW will be one of the
world's largest wind farms, is expected to be finalized in 2014. The energy
from a total of 160 wind turbines will be carried 13 km to shore, and connected
to the grid on land at St Asaph.
