SF Weekly Hosts the Third Annual DISH Event at Metreon's City View

More Than 30 Restaurants and Ten Wineries Participating; a Portion of the Proceeds Will Benefit STREETSMART4KIDS(TM)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) -  SF Weekly is bringing back its tremendously successful DISH culinary event for the third year to the 4th Floor at San Francisco's Metreon, City View. This third edition of DISH will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m. on September 30, 2010. More than 30 of San Francisco's top eateries will sample some of their most popular dishes for attendees in addition to more than ten wineries sharing and educating guests on their products. The event will also benefit local Bay Area charity, STREETSMART4KIDS™.

Tickets ($40 per person limited presale, $50 after) will include sample plates from all attending eateries, tastings from local wineries, specialty cocktails, and a souvenir passport to keep track of all of the dishes they had the chance to experience. Limited VIP Tickets ($80 per person presale) will also be available for purchase. These will provide a limited number of attendees all the same benefits of the general admission ticket, and include express entrance into the event, access to special amenities, and reserve eateries, as well as a gift bag.

Last year's eateries included many fine dining establishments as well as popular local eateries and wineries. This year's DISH will build on last year's event while incorporating the growing San Francisco street food scene by including cuisine form some of the top food trucks and mobile kitchens.

The Third Annual DISH also brings more than great food and drink for its attendees. Look for special presentations, demonstrations, entertainment, interviews and follow along with live Twitter feeds and other interactive events. In addition, SFoodie (@SFoodie on Twitter), SF Weekly's resident food blog, will have a dedicated area featuring some of editor John Birdsall's favorite eateries.

"This is an exciting moment in the local food scene, with an unprecedented number of recent launches, from fine-dining restaurants all the way to street-food startups," says Birdsall. "DISH has been designed to capture the energy of the city's current offerings."

The following eateries will be participating, with more announced daily: Bridge Brands Chocolates, Cheese Plus, Coda Supperclub, Cosmopolitan Café, Creperie St. Germain, Eat Restaurants, Farina, Gold Mirror, Gussie's Chicken and Waffles, Hard Knox Café, Live Sushi, Lark Creek Steak, Mezes, Mission Minis, New Dehli, Oola, Pacific Catch, Papalote Mexican Grill (Best of SF 2010), Piazza Market, Pica Pica Maize Kitchen, Queen's Louisiana Cafe (Best of SF 2010), Restaurant Ducroix, Sandbox Bakery (Best of SF 2010), Sugar Café, San Francisco Soup Company, Tal-Y-Tara, Urban Tavern, and 'WichCraft.

AboutSTREETSMART4KIDS
STREETSMART4KIDS™ is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with San Francisco restaurants to help homeless children get the help they need. We deliver all donations directly to our three beneficiaries, Huckleberry Youth Programs, La Casa de las Madres and Larkin Street Youth Services.

Youth Homelessness in San Francisco: Incidence and Needs
There are over 5,700 homeless and marginally housed youth, ages 12-24, in San Francisco each year. Those under the age of 18 are particularly vulnerable. Huckleberry Youth Programs, La Casa de las Madres and Larkin Street Youth Services are serving this population to ensure their safety, provide access to resources and services and help them exit street life. Through these services, the three agencies are helping all those they can, but there is still a great need to reach even more youth. With the help of Streetsmart, our city's youth that are most in need will continue to be able to access food, clothing, shelter, housing, counseling, peer support and much more.
