NetApp Executive Chairman Dan Warmenhoven Honored as Visionary Award Recipient by the Entrepreneurs Foundation

NetApp Also Selected as Leadership Award Winner for Commitment to Community Involvement

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - September 21, 2010) -  NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced that Executive Chairman Dan Warmenhoven has been selected by the Entrepreneurs Foundation as the recipient of the 2010 Visionary Award for his leadership in the funding, development, and staffing of the community relations function at NetApp since the company was founded. In addition, the Entrepreneurs Foundation selected NetApp as a recipient of its Leadership Award based on the company's community involvement program.

"Dan Warmenhoven has demonstrated his commitment to corporate citizenship not only at NetApp but also in the broader business community," said Diane Solinger, executive director of the Entrepreneurs Foundation. "He is a vocal advocate and supporter of the concept that a company's role in society goes beyond providing jobs and paying taxes. Healthy communities and the employees' well being matter to Dan as does business success. He is chosen as this year's Visionary Award recipient because he not only talks the talk but he walks the walk."

"It's an honor to be recognized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation, an organization that has done so much to inspire employees and companies alike to make a difference," said Warmenhoven, previously chief executive officer of NetApp from 1994-2009. "These awards are attributable to my colleagues at NetApp and our model-company philosophy. NetApp employees, not only in the Bay Area but around the world, continue to do inspiring work and demonstrate a true commitment to making a positive difference in their communities."

The Entrepreneurs Foundation's Visionary Award is given annually to an individual within the network who best exemplifies the leadership efforts necessary to increase corporate philanthropy and community involvement. The Leadership Award is given annually to member companies that have demonstrated a superior commitment to corporate community involvement. Programs like NetApp's volunteer time-off initiative, which provides employees with five paid days per year to volunteer in the community, along with the more than $3 million in charitable contributions made to nonprofit organizations and universities in fiscal year 2010, were instrumental in NetApp being recognized with the Leadership Award.
