Intergraph(R) 2010 CADWorx(R) University Opening Day Keynotes Announce New Investments in CADWorx R&D and Integration Plans With SmartPlant(R)

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - September 27, 2010) -  Intergraph 2010 CADWorx® University opened today in Houston with keynote presentations by Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president, Global Business Development, Intergraph Process Power & Marine, and Thomas J. Van Laan, PE, senior vice president, Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions, during which Intergraph announced major new investments in product development for Intergraph CADWorx that will expand upon its position as the world's number one solution in the AutoCAD®-based plant design market.

"Since 1996 CADWorx has shown itself to be a proven solution that has provided superior plant design capabilities to the AutoCAD-based plant design market," said Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph Process Power & Marine. "Intergraph acquired COADE in early 2010 because we recognized the strength of CADWorx and the power it provides to its clients. CADWorx is a great addition to our product portfolio, well known for its superior productivity."

The keynotes also announced other initiatives, including how Intergraph will integrate CADWorx output into Intergraph SmartPlant® Enterprise 3D designs for the efficient coordination and design of larger projects. "We see great potential and value in the additional synergies of incorporating CADWorx model data with market-leading SmartPlant Enterprise solutions," Sallinger added. "Because of the benefits of allowing CADWorx data to be accessed and incorporated into our SmartPlant Enterprise world, we are currently working on delivering this powerful functionality to all our users." This integration will provide intelligent 3D design solutions for all types and sizes of projects, an integration that will benefit the small engineering firm as well as the largest EPC and owner-operator companies.

CADWorx University, which continues through September 29th, is the world's largest AutoCAD-based plant design event, with more than 45 classes, including case histories, hands-on demonstrations, and labs delivered by expert users and program developers. Presentations include introductions to CADWorx 2011. "With the upcoming release of CADWorx 2011," Sallinger explained, "Intergraph has further strengthened its commitment to the over 12,000 CADWorx users by increasing development resources and sharpening our focus on this important market sector."

The Intergraph CADWorx Plant Design Suite for process plant design offers intelligent drawing-to-database connectivity, advanced levels of design automation and easy-to-use design tools. Because of these distinct advantages, EPC firms and owner operators in the process, power, water treatment, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and semiconductor industries have rapidly adopted the software. CADWorx also offers the industry's first and only true bi-directional links between CAD and engineering analysis tools, linking CADWorx with Intergraph's industry-leading pipe stress analysis program, Intergraph CAESAR II, and its pressure vessel and exchanger analysis program Intergraph PV Elite.
