WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwire - September 30, 2010) -  Infinity Publishing (www.infinitypublishing.com), a pioneer in self-publishing, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Sony to make Infinity eBooks available for purchase on Sony's Reader Store.

Sony has attracted significant attention in the burgeoning eBook industry with its innovative line of Reader digital reading devices. Reader is available in three editions, starting at about $179.99, and supports multiple file formats, including ePub and PDF. All three models feature Sony's award-winning industrial design and "electronic paper display" that emulates the look of ink on paper.

Infinity's eBooks will now be available for sale on Sony's Reader Store at http://ebookstore.sony.com, from which readers can download eBooks in open-standard formats that can be viewed on various eBook reading devices, including Sony's Reader. Launched in September 2006, the Reader Store features access to more than 1 million titles and links to borrow eBooks from local public libraries nationwide.

"Sony was one of the first major companies to enter the eBookstore space, so we're excited to complete this distribution agreement with them and open up another important sales channel for Infinity authors," said Arthur Gutch, chief executive officer of Infinity Publishing. "Sony is one of the most trusted brands in the world for quality entertainment and publishing products. We're pleased to make available our eBooks for sale on their Reader Store and to further expose our authors' titles to a global audience."

Infinity's eBook offering for self-published authors, described in more detail at http://www.infinitypublishing.com/additional-book-publishing-services/ebook.html, incorporates the same simple business principles the company has used successfully in digitally publishing books for more than a decade. For a one-time setup fee of $199, Infinity converts an author's existing published work into an eBook, assigns an ISBN to the title, and handles all aspects of distribution. The author's eBook is available for sale indefinitely, with no maintenance fees or other costs required, including future proofs for new electronic reading devices.
