GSN Digital and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation Bring Breast Cancer Awareness to Gamers


WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2010) -  It's estimated that 207,090 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone. Every day, researchers get closer to finding a cure and developing treatment programs for those affected by the disease. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GSN Digital continues its partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) to raise much-needed funds for breast cancer research. During the month of October, players can participate by playing casual games on GSN.com or competing in cash competitions on GSN's WorldWinner site to raise money for BCRF.

WHAT:   Since 2007, GSN Digital and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation have teamed up to give game lovers a fun way to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. GSN Digital offers two ways to get involved. Visitors to GSN.com can answer trivia questions and play casual games like Deal or No Deal, BINGO Blitz and Mahjongg Dimensions for Oodles, GSN's virtual currency redeemable for gift cards and prizes. Through GSN's Oodles for Breast Cancer Awareness program, players can redeem their Oodles for donations of $10, $25 and $50 to BCRF. Additionally, players who prefer to compete for cash can raise money for BCRF through the Play to Defeat Breast Cancer program. Players enter online tournaments in games including Wheel of Fortune, SCRABBLE Cubes and Bejeweled 2, from which 10 percent of the entry fee goes to BCRF. To date, GSN Digital has raised more than $780,000 for breast cancer research and prevention.
