BlueWave Technology Congratulates NBIC's Mike Anselmo, Recently Named 2010 Insurance IT All-Star by Tech Decisions

HONOLULU, HI--(Marketwire - October 8, 2010) -  BlueWave Technology is pleased to congratulate Mike Anselmo, chief information officer of Narragansett Bay Insurance Company (NBIC), who was recently named one of this year's Insurance IT All-Stars by Tech Decisions, a National Underwriter publication focusing on technology for the insurance industry.

Tech Decisions' annual Insurance IT All-Star program recognizes overall excellence by individuals in the insurance IT arena. This year's five All-Star honorees were chosen not only for exceptional leadership in the area of insurance IT, but also for strategic long-term thinking. Many of this year's honorees, including Anselmo, have also demonstrated a willingness to tackle tough technology projects that will aid in their company's success.

"We feel it is important to recognize the top technology leaders within the insurance industry. Mike Anselmo was an easy choice as one of our IT All Stars," said Robert Regis Hyle, editor-in-chief, Tech Decisions. "Mike's technology and leadership skills make him a great IT leader, but what struck me were some of the other aspects of his life, such as his interest in education and Junior Achievement. Those things illustrate a depth that not all business leaders exhibit."

As noted, Anselmo is no stranger to massive implementation projects. Prior to joining NBIC, he designed a cutting-edge technology enterprise architecture for a specialty insurance company and led a large team of technology and business employees who successfully completed the implementation.

Anselmo's most recent endeavor for NBIC, Project APEX, began in 2009. Project APEX was envisioned to modernize NBIC's in-house legacy systems and establish a highly-advanced, flexible and nimble technology environment that would enable the company to deliver exceptional client services, platform scalability, business alignment and the product agility needed to transform the homeowners' insurance marketplace. All systems selected as a part of Project APEX were specifically chosen for their flexible, modern architecture. BlueWave Technology's PipelineClaims was brought in when the Project APEX team at NBIC identified, and then selected, a system to consolidate IT processes and create more fluid claims management. NBIC wanted the new solution to be responsive enough to handle the company's current claims volume while also capturing all the data vital to underwriting better business.

"It is great to see Mike recognized as the IT All-Star that he is," said Riki Fujitani, president of BlueWave Technology. "His vision for APEX is as innovative as it is strategic. We are happy to be a part of that vision."
