Senior Executives Join Ixtens: Tommaso Trionfi as CEO and Betsy Cohen as CFO

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 12, 2010) -  Ixtens, a Software-as-a-Service provider that powers marketplaces for online retailers and media companies, announced today that it recently named Tommaso Trionfi as CEO and Betsy Cohen as CFO. In September, the company received Series A financing led by Greycroft Partners and BV Capital and is attracting top NYC talent to strengthen its management team.

Formerly CEO of Wimba Inc. (acquired by Blackboard Inc.), the leader in SaaS-based collaboration software for the education market, Trionfi brings 23 years of management experience with early stage and larger global software and engineering companies. Trionfi has an MS in International Economics from Université Pierre Mendès-France and an MBA from INSEAD. Trionfi is currently the President of the US Alumni Association for INSEAD Business School.

"Ixtens has built a superb product over the years and is going after a very substantial market opportunity. Some key large customers are using our platform, and we now want to scale," said Trionfi. "The most important thing is to build a great team, and the first step I did was to bring Betsy Cohen on board to help us."

Betsy Cohen joins Ixtens as Chief Financial Officer and brings start-up experience on the executive management teams of Intelliseek and Troika Dialog. Cohen has an MBA from Harvard Business School and served as a Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.

"We are building a great company and need great people to make it happen. We are very thrilled that Tommaso and Betsy joined us to scale the business," said Eugene Nikiforov, CPO and Co-Founder of Ixtens. Ian Sigalow of Greycroft Partners, an Ixtens board member, added, "As we analyzed Ixtens it became apparent that the market opportunity was very large, and attracting a CEO of Tommaso's experience and a CFO of Betsy's caliber further confirmed our investment thesis."
