"Uprising," the first single from Muse's fifth studio album The Resistance, topped Mediabase's Alternative Rock chart for 19 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for number of consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Mediabase Alternative Rock chart for the 2009 calendar year.

Muse, which is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard, are currently in the middle of the second leg of their North American tour. Of Muse's Austin City Limits Festival performance, the Austin American Statesman wrote: "These three musicians were at times reminiscent of the three musicians of Led Zeppelin and Queen -- so intricate and yet so explosively tuneful. Didn't expect much and walked away convinced I'd just seen the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world."

Muse's previous album, 2006's gold Black Holes and Revelations, peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard album chart.
