HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - October 21, 2010) - Intergraph announced the completion of 2010 CADWorx University, held September 27-29, 2010 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott in Houston, attended by 225 plant design and engineering professionals from 90 countries. Participants attended 45 classes featuring presentations and hands-on demonstrations by 18 industry experts, including top users of CADWorx and product development staff from Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions. Special guests included this year's Drivers of Success competition winners from KBR, Russia and Fichtner Consulting and Mech-Tech Projects, both from India.
Keynote Patrick Holcomb, executive vice president, Intergraph Process Power & Marine (Intergraph PPM), outlined Intergraph's future plans for CADWorx as part of Intergraph PPM's offerings, including the integration of CADWorx models and designs into the SmartPlant® Enterprise environment. During his keynote Holcomb also delivered a message from Gerhard Sallinger, president, Intergraph PPM, explaining why Intergraph acquired COADE in early 2010. Sallinger described how they recognized the strength of CADWorx, the power it provides to users, and its superior productivity. Intergraph also saw the benefits of allowing CADWorx data to be accessed and incorporated into the SmartPlant Enterprise world.
The second keynote speaker, Thomas J. Van Laan, PE, senior vice president, Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions, outlined the process of the acquisition and Intergraph's focused goals for the CADWorx Plant Design Suite and the group's analysis products.
