Sweden's Telecommunications Regulator Selects Computech for Auction Services & Support

Computech to Provide Consulting & Software Services for PTS' 800 MHz Band Auction

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - November 22, 2010) - Sweden's telecommunications regulator, the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS), has awarded information technology consulting firm Computech, Inc. the contract for auction consulting services and software in support of their upcoming 800 MHz band auction. Sweden's auction for the 800 MHz band, which is divided into six paired frequency blocks of 2x5 MHz each and suitable for wide area coverage in sparsely populated areas, is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2011.

Computech will initially work with PTS to finalize the auction design and rules, based on PTS' spectrum policy objectives. Following PTS' final decisions regarding auction rules, Computech will deliver a customized version of the Computech Auction Platform (CAP) to address PTS' specific requirements, enabling the Swedish government to automate the auction process for the 800 MHz band licenses.

"Demand for spectrum has increased dramatically worldwide, leading spectrum regulators to conduct auctions," explained Lawrence Fitzpatrick, Computech's President. "We are looking forward to helping PTS, one of the premier regulators, facilitate this auction and move forward with its broadband strategy."

Computech's team will be on-site in PTS' Stockholm offices to lead internal system training with PTS, conduct mock auctions for the bidders and support the auction during the live production event. In addition, the team will expand CAP's features set to meet PTS' specific activity, eligibility and language requirements.

Computech, Inc. (www.computechinc.com), an information technology firm, has supported 80+ spectrum auctions, which have resulted in $86 Billion USD of gross winning bids and the issuance of 31,000 licenses. Computech develops, implements and maintains business-critical information systems for public/private organizations and offers expertise in data-driven dashboards; legacy system modernization; business process modernization; revenue-based collection systems; change management; and auction/spectrum management.
