Dear Sirs
In the light of the speculation in the media, Sydbank's Board of Directors have
discussed possible future candidates for the offices of chairman and
vice-chairman when the present Chairman, Kresten Philipsen, retires as Chairman
at the next general meeting in 2011. 

As a result of the discussions, the present Board of Directors propose Anders
Thoustrup as Chairman and Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak as Vice-Chairman. Both have
agreed to stand as candidates for these positions. 

“With this team Sydbank's chairmanship will be very strong. I could not imagine
a better team to carry on the work of one of the largest and strongest banks in
Denmark and this is why we are already recommending Anders Thoustrup and Hanni
Toosbuy Kasprzak”, says Chairman Kresten Philipsen. 

In addition Otto Christensen has informed that he does not wish to stand again
and has therefore already now decided to resign from the Bank's Board of
Directors. 

The election of members to the Board of Directors as well as the election of
the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the new Board of Directors will take place in
connection with the annual general meeting on Thursday 10 March 2011 and the
subsequent Shareholders' Committee meeting held on the same day.
