QuickLogic Expands Presence in Asia to Meet Increasing Demand for CSSPs

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - December 6, 2010) - QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the leader in low power Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), today announced the opening of a new office in Shanghai, China to support the increasing demand for CSSPs in Asia. This move underscores QuickLogic's commitment to the handheld mobile market, and to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and design houses developing products such as tablets, smartphones, datacards, and mobile enterprise equipment. The office will be headed by Johnson Shang, Director of Strategic Accounts.

With the opening of the Shanghai office, QuickLogic's customer engagement team and system solution group will be able to work more closely with customers and design houses throughout the customer engagement process to deliver feature-rich CSSP solutions for their mobile products. The customer-specific programmable fabric portion of CSSPs typically includes multiple Proven System Blocks (PSBs) for OEM/ODM customization and differentiation. The PSBs most frequently adopted in China include the Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) technology for mobile device viewability in bright sunlight and the Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technology for extended battery life. Other popular PSBs include numerous connectivity and security blocks that enable higher levels of component integration and product differentiation while accelerating time to market.
