Sandvik Mining and Construction receives major project orders in
materials handling

During October and November, Sandvik Mining and Construction has secured
a number of orders for bulk materials handling and continuous
mining/crushing systems in South America, Africa and Asia. The recently
signed orders include:

  · the turn-key supply of a materials handling system for a coal export
terminal
  · a “repeat order “ for supply of several iron ore handling machines
for a iron ore mine
  · the design and supply of a high-capacity (9100 t/hr) long-distance
conveying system for iron ore mine
  · the design and delivery of a complete coal storage (stacking and
reclaiming) and handling/loading system for a port
  · the engineering and supply of a high capacity iron ore conveying
system for a port

The total value of these orders is approximately 2,200 MSEK and will be
included in the order intake for the fourth quarter 2010. Delivery has
commenced with completion scheduled to take place between late 2011 and
mid 2013.

“We are pleased to note that, following the increase in demand for
mobile mining equipment demand earlier this year, we are now also seeing
arise in demand for major capital investments in mines and related
infrastructures. These orders confirm Sandvik's strong position in iron
ore and coal mining, preparation and bulk materials handling. We
anticipate a continued high level of demand for these commodities and
the orders prove our ability to provide technically superior and energy
efficient continuous mining solutions. This success is based on
Sandvik's vast experience and its close cooperation with customers in
development and delivery of complete mining and bulk handling systems,”
says Lars Josefsson, President of Sandvik Mining and Construction
business area.
