Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps to $237 Million

Next Draw - Friday, New Year's Eve

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - December 29, 2010) -  For the fifteenth consecutive time, Mega Millions will roll again -- this time on Friday, New Year's Eve. The jackpot for Mega Millions, Arizona's newest multi-state game, has climbed from $12 million to $237 million. The jackpot has reached $200 million or above only five times over the past two years.

Seventeen players in a dozen states won at least $250,000 in last night's Mega Millions draw, including one lucky Arizonan. There were 35,000 Mega Millions winners in Arizona last week alone.

"This has been an exciting month for the Arizona Lottery," said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. "One of our own residents was a $95 million Powerball jackpot winner, and we're hoping the big Mega Millions jackpot winner is from Arizona as well. What a great way to bring in the New Year!"

Mega Millions costs $1 per ticket. Players select 5 out of 56 numbers, then select 1 out of 46 for the Mega Ball number. Players can also pay an extra $1 for a Megaplier that multiplies winnings up to four times the original amount. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays. The game is played in 41 states and Washington, D.C.

Players can check their numbers by logging onto www.ArizonaLottery.com or by calling the winning numbers hotline at 480-829-PICK in Phoenix and 1-800-499-3798 in all other Arizona areas. Players can also opt-in to receive The Pick winning number text alerts by texting "AZLOT" to 411247.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Overall odds vary by game. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, these materials may be made available in an alternate format. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-NEXT STEP. Please Play Responsibly. ™
