McCain, Inc. Secures a New LEED-Certified Manufacturing Property in Vista, CA

Renowned Transportation Solutions Provider to Bring More of Its Manufacturing Back to the U.S.

VISTA, CA--(Marketwire - January 4, 2011) - McCain, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of transportation management software, traffic equipment, and parking guidance solutions, today announced the expansion of their manufacturing capabilities by adding a new 100,000-square-foot, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified (LEED) building in Vista, California.

McCain currently operates manufacturing plants in Preston, WA; Vista, CA; and a third, ISO-certified facility in Tijuana, México. The addition of the newest space, coupled with the already established facilities, brings McCain's total manufacturing space to over 300,000 square feet. The addition of the new site is expected to increase manufacturing capabilities and reduce product lead times. In addition to advancing production efforts, the building boasts state-of-the-art design and construction, which meets LEED-certification requirements.

Acquisition of the green building was gained in November of 2010 and represents the initial steps in bringing a substantial portion of McCain's product manufacturing back to Southern California. Initial efforts will be marked by manufacturing the company's core traffic products: cabinets, signals and controllers at the new U.S. manufacturing site.

Moving production back to an American manufacturing facility will help national projects meet "Buy American" clauses, resulting in secured funding through federal grants and initiatives with American-made requirements. In addition to helping projects meet "Buy American" requirements, the manufacturing expansion will create new job opportunities and help boost the local economy.

"Producing reliable products that meet 'Buy American' specifications is where the traffic trade directives are headed and McCain is proud to be at the helm. We continually challenge ourselves to develop and employ improved techniques that help our customers meet their project requirements. This time, we're not only taking steps to practice best manufacturing processes, we're helping revitalize our community's economy, a win-win for everyone," said Jeffrey L. McCain, president/CEO at McCain, Inc.

After the final contracts and required renovations are completed, McCain will begin manufacturing several product offerings at the start of the New Year, with full production slated to begin mid-year 2011.
