Cerf, renowned as a "Father of the Internet" and currently vice president and chief Internet evangelist at Google, will deliver the keynote address at the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2011 Convention & EXPO, March 20-23 at the Venetian in Las Vegas.

Widely known as one of the "Fathers of the Internet," Cerf and his colleague Robert E. Kahn were co-designers of the TCP/IP protocols and the architecture of the Internet while working at the U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Since October 2005, Cerf has served in his current role at Google, where he is responsible for identifying new enabling technologies to support the company's development of advanced, Internet-based products and services. Before joining Google, he was the senior vice president of Technology Strategy for MCI, where he guided corporate strategy development from the technical perspective. He also served as MCI's senior vice president of Architecture and Technology, leading a team of architects and engineers to design advanced networking frameworks including Internet-based solutions for delivering a combination of data, information, voice and video services for business and consumer use.
In addition to Cerf's keynote address, COMPTEL will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary during the COMPTEL PLUS Spring 2011 Convention & EXPO. Festivities will begin with a party on Sunday, March 20, and celebrations continue throughout the convention with other activities, giveaways and presentations commemorating the anniversary.
