VAN NUYS, CA--(Marketwire - January 6, 2011) - AVAD LLC, a leading distributor of residential and commercial custom-installation products, today announced that Jim Barton has joined as senior director, sales & vendor management. In this position, all 21 US AVAD branches will report to Barton, who will also lead the company's field sales and vendor management teams to develop and execute the company's growth initiatives. Barton will report to Jim Annes, vice president and general manager of AVAD.

Prior to joining AVAD, Barton was with Bose Corporation for 10 years, where he held a variety of positions, most recently as unit business manager for Bose BUILT-INvisible Group. In this role, he was responsible for strategic business planning for the sales channel, marketing and dealer engagement. Prior to that, he was sales manager of the New Business Development Group, helping Bose negotiate reseller relationships and supply-chain agreements. He also served as national sales manager and market development manager for Bose.
