Sharp Electronics Corporation comes to CES 2011 with new innovative lines of audio/video products, as well as a new e-media tablet and cloud-based e-bookstore service called GALAPAGOS. These new product offerings support Sharp's ongoing commitment to fostering more enjoyable, eco-friendly lives. Most of the products Sharp is displaying at CES 2011 are ENERGY STAR® qualified.

"This is a very exciting time for Sharp. We are focused on delivering quality products that underscore our key competencies in LCD, and in energy-saving and energy-creating products," said John Herrington, president, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. "At CES, we are introducing a new screen size class, 70-inches, our best large screen TV ever. We are also highlighting large screen 3D and 2D Sharp AQUOS Quattron LCD TVs, in screen size classes from 60- to 40-inches, that offer superior and immersive viewing experiences. Lastly, we are demonstrating a new e-media tablet and e-bookstore that will support many aspects of consumers' digital lifestyles."

Sharp Makes Bigger Better
Sharp understands that the moments we all remember, the moments most enjoyed, are those shared with our family and friends. And nothing brings people more together -- for things like the big game, family movie night, or live events -- than a large television. Sharp makes bigger better with its revolutionary Quattron Quad Pixel Technology that improves the quality of any content.

At the show, Sharp is highlighting its 70-inch screen size class (69 ½ inch diagonal) LC-70LE732U which combines Sharp's X-Gen panel with Quad Pixel Technology and full array LED backlighting to deliver a superior and captivating experience. One of two lines of 70-inch class models that Sharp will introduce in 2011, the LC-70LE732U marks the pinnacle of Sharp's LCD manufacturing prowess. The company's new Sharp AQUOS Quattron LE835 Series 3D LCD TVs, available in 60-, 52-, 46- and 40-inch screen size classes, sport X-Gen panels with Quad Pixel Technology, edge-lit LED backlighting and AquoMotion 240 technology.

All of Sharp's new AQUOS Quattron models offer built-in WiFi and access to the best apps like Facebook®, Pandora®, Twitter™, and Flickr® through VUDU™, and on-demand movies through Netflix®, VUDU and CinemaNow™, as well as AQUOS Advantage Livesm remote online customer service.

Sharp Booth is an LCD Showplace
Attendees approaching the Sharp booth will immediately notice the stunning LCD panel video wall across the top section that will alternatively display video presentations as a single screen and individually. Within the booth, Sharp has installed an eye-popping video cube made of 64 60-inch class thin-bezel LCD panels that surround viewers with images from above, below, in front and both sides. The cube is more than a demonstration; Sharp is working with Universal Studios to have a video cube featured in one of its theme parks. In other spots in the booth, Sharp has installed nine 60-inch class LCD panel (3 x 3) video walls to display video of its various product offerings at the show.

E-Media Tablet and Cloud-Based E-Bookstore
Sharp is showcasing its GALAPAGOS e-media tablet and cloud-based bookstore service now available in Japan. Sharp will initiate an e-media business including both tablet and content offerings in the U.S. in 2011. The GALAPAGOS e-media tablet, with a 16:9 touch-screen LCD and rich graphic capabilities, is a dynamic portal to an array of print and video content over WiFi service. The GALAPAGOS tablet and e-bookstore service will offer consumers wide access to e-books, movies, games, and music. Consumers will also be able to schedule automatic delivery of periodicals such as newspapers and magazines. This content will be available in Sharp's proprietary XMDF format, which enhances viewing of digital content by allowing its layout to be adjusted for easy reading, as well as the popular ePub format. All downloaded content is stored on a micro SD™ card, so users can enjoy reading e-books even outside of a WiFi environment.

New 3D Projector, 3D Blu-ray Players and Audio Products
Sharp's XV-Z17000 high-definition DLP® home theater projector, which was initially introduced at CEDIA in September to a very warm reception, has "IR Link" and a 40,000:1 high contrast ratio and up to 1,600 lumens brightness. It is sold with two pairs of 3D active shutter glasses for under $5,000.

In addition, Sharp introduces three new 3D Blu-ray Disc™ players with full HD 3D 1080p/24 fps video output, Dolby TrueHD® and DTS HD® audio format decoding for superior 3D and 2D viewing experiences. These models are also wireless ready and able to stream video from a wide variety of sources.

Sharp introduces five new sound bar systems which offer powerful audio and contemporary styling for home theaters in apartments, dens and bedrooms, or any room with limited space. In fact, the new HT-SL70 and HT-SL50 sound bars are the world's slimmest and can be conveniently placed in front of large flat screen TVs without blocking the picture. Other highlights in the line include the HT-SB600 with 3D Video format compatibility via HDMI® 1.4 with Audio Return Channel, and the 2.1 channel CP-USB50 portable USB sound bar that boosts computer and laptop audio.

Sharp also unveils a suite of new audio systems, including two new mini-component and two micro-component systems, a HiFi component system and two iPod®/iPhone® clock radio speaker docks that deliver powerful sound and advanced connectivity features to just about any audio source available.
