ATCO Completes Repairs to Natural Gas Line in Southeast Edmonton

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Jan. 6, 2011) - An ATCO Pipelines high pressure natural gas line was damaged this morning in southeast Edmonton. ATCO personnel have since made the necessary repairs.

The gas line, located at 1704 66 Avenue, was struck by snow removal equipment just before 9:00 am. As a safety precaution, the Edmonton Fire Department evacuated a nearby building and ordered its power to be shut off. There were also road closures in the area.

Properly identified ATCO Gas employees wearing company issued identification, will be knocking on the doors of customers whose natural gas service may have been impacted, to ensure that natural gas appliances have been relit and are functioning properly.
