OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 6, 2011) - Shortly after Statistics Canada releases its monthly Labour Force Survey on Friday, January 7, CLC President Ken Georgetti and Chief Economist Andrew Jackson will be available for comment to the media.
The survey released on January 7 will describe the workforce for December 2010. In November, the rate of unemployment fell minimally largely because many people, especially young workers, gave up looking for jobs and so were not counted as being in the labour force. The number of people in Canada working in manufacturing in November fell to its lowest level in decades.
