SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - January 20, 2011) - Gusto™, a one-time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory intellectual property (IP) core up to four-megabit in 65-nanometer (nm) and below from Kilopass Technology Inc., has been named one of this year's DesignVision Award Finalists.
The yearly DesignVision Awards honor the achievements of the most innovative semiconductor companies, the most prominent visionaries and the most successful design tools in the industry. Announced in 2010, the first Gusto user is working at the 65-nanometer (nm) process technology to design a system on chip (SoC) for multi-communication products.
Gusto is large enough to store the firmware and boot code traditionally stored in ROM or external serial-flash and EEPROM chips. By expanding capacity up to 4X, Gusto enables a new level of integration. It is ideal for cost-, power- and form factor-sensitive applications, including mobile and consumer applications, as well as for high-security code storage applications including secure boot code or secure kernals. Gusto is available at 65nm and below in pure play foundries including IBM, TSMC and UMC. More process nodes and foundries will be announced this year.
Gusto is built using standard, commercially available CMOS logic process technologies and utilizes Kilopass' patented 2T antifuse bitcell with proven security critical for secure code storage applications.
DesignVision Award winners will be announced Tuesday, February 1, during DesignCon to be held January 31-February 3 at Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif. Kilopass will exhibit at DesignCon in Booth #733 February 1-2.
