Acquia Appoints Executive to Spearhead European Operations

Jim Shaw Joins Acquia as General Manager for Europe


WOBURN, MA--(Marketwire - January 25, 2011) - Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, today announced the appointment of Jim Shaw as general manager for Europe. Jim brings a stellar portfolio of success to Acquia, including years of top-notch enterprise software sales and partner management experience. In this newly created role, Jim will be responsible for all Acquia activities in Europe. Acquia plans substantial promotion of Drupal throughout Europe, and to introduce its popular Drupal-based products and services to the European market.

Jim joins Acquia from Software AG where he was responsible for Telco, Media, Energy & Utilities industries in the UK and Ireland. Prior to Software AG, Jim held senior roles at Progress Software and webMethods.

In addition to new business development, this team will be responsible for managing our hosting operations center in Ireland and will offer multi-lingual support during European business hours.
