Just Energy Customers Benefit from 10% Rebate on Electricity Bills

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 25, 2011) - Just Energy's residential and small commercial electricity customers in Ontario will be pleased to see a 10 percent rebate applied to their monthly electricity bills starting as early as this month.

The Ontario Clean Energy Benefit (OCEB) rebate came into effect on January 1 and will extend out five years. It is being made available to all eligible electricity consumers in Ontario, and will primarily benefit residential, farm and small business consumers in the province, including Just Energy customers who meet the criteria.

The Ontario government's 10% rebate will be applied to a customer's total electricity bill, including electricity costs, regulatory charges, the debt retirement charge and taxes. Just Energy customers do not have to do anything - the OCEB will be automatically applied to every eligible customer's bills, as early as January 2011.

Some local utilities may not be able to apply the rebate on your bill right away but are required to do so no later than May. Just Energy customers will begin to see the rebate applied as early as this month. If applied later than this month, the rebate will be applied retroactively to January 1, 2011 on a subsequent bill.
