Management changes at Handelsbanken

Rainer Lawniczak has been appointed new chief executive of Stadshypotek. He has
been a member of the Bank's senior management team since 2006 and is currently
head of Handelsbanken's regional bank in central Sweden.

He will take up his new position on 1 March.

Pontus Åhlund has been appointed as the new head of Handelsbanken's regional
bank in central Sweden. He will also be a member of the Bank's senior management
team. Pontus Åhlund is currently regional area manager at the regional bank in
central Sweden.

He will take up his new position on 1 March.

Yonnie Bergqvist has been appointed head of the Handelsbanken Direkt business
area. At the same time, he has been appointed Executive Vice President at
Handelsbanken. Yonnie Bergqvist has been a member of the Bank's senior
management team since 1999 and is currently chief executive of Handelsbanken
Finans. Handelsbanken Finans is a unit within the Handelsbanken Direkt business
area.

He will take up this position on 9 February.
